Born in Monza, the Province of Monza and Brianza (historically part of the Province of Milan), Fossati started his career at Milan, which he played for its Giovanissimi Nazionali team (under-16 team) in 2006–07 season.[1]
In 2007–08 season he left for city rival F.C. Internazionale Milano,[2] which he played 2 seasons in Allievi Nazionali (under-18) team[3] and 1 season in Primavera under-20 team. He also played for the first team in friendlies.[4][5]
On 16 July 2010 he was sold back to Milan along with Attila Filkor and Cristian Daminuţă.[6] Fossati remained in Primavera level in 2010–11 season.
At the start of 2011–12 season, Fossati played for Milan first team in pre-season friendlies, including against Inter in 2011 TIM Trophy.[7] On 29 August he left for Latina.[8] He made his debut on 4 September, a 1–1 draw with Siracusa.[9]
Fossati started his youth international career in a born 1992/1993 training camp.[10] He then played his first match in Saarland quadrangular tournament.[11] He played all 3 matches in 2009 U-17 Euro qualifying,[12][13][14] and all 3 matches in the elite round. In the final round Azzurrini lost to Germany in semi-final, but still qualified for 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. At the World Junior Cup, he played all 5 matches. After a call-up to Italy U-19 team in September 2010, he never received a call-up again.[15]
